Scott Beach is a Navy pilot, flying his little Seahawk seaplane, the Suzi N, across the Pacific Ocean both to spy for the US Navy, as well as to shuttle illicit rum to high ranking officers on occasion. With the war finally over, Scott is one of the few people who doesn't want to leave paradise to go back to the states. 
When he finds a mysterious abandoned rum distillery, Scott decides to park himself on a nearby island and make rum in paradise. He has to find a way to mix his duty and job with his desire, and his love of his surgical nurse girlfriend, to make it all work. And then, he finally has to solve the mystery of The Lost Rum Of Tiki Island!
I really, really, wanted to write this for a while now. I wanted a good adventure tale, full of the color of the tropics, telling a fun, fairly adult, story that had the old classic tiki vibe, the fun adventure in the Pacific, like the great old books from the 1950s. The characters are well developed, easy to root for or against, and there's promise of excitement without the stress of what might happen, more of how it will all work out. Because who needs stress when you are reading in a hammock with a mai-tai?
