The Summer of '85 on Hatteras Island is going to be a killer!
All Steve Brodie wants is to escape his fame as a national radio DJ and settle into the quiet island of Cape Hatteras, where he can work nights and just be a voice on the ether, detached from him stardom of far off Los Angeles. A simple beach house, quiet, dark nights, and solitude are all he asks for.
But tragedy comes to the soft sands of Buxton when Steve discovers the body of a woman on the beach late at night, murdered and horribly mutilated. While the locals are concerned for themselves, more and more they wonder just who Steve Brodie is, and how he is connected to the death.
Steve becomes the target of threats at the local radio station. He and the other DJs get blamed for stirring up the local kids with rock music late at night. As summer comes on, a hate group goes from vague insinuations to outright attacks. Violence and death are served up to anyone who seems to be against their narrow minded beliefs.
Steve knows there is much more to the events happening over the summer. Steve has to face his own monster from his past, along with something even worse, that he alone can sense. A greater evil is at work, ancient and purely malevolent, delighting in torture and death of the innocent. Something is sucking the life out of the island, growing in malicious power, and Steve is the only one that can stop it.
And it all starts at midnight.

The links provided currently use Bookshop.org and Amazon. Bookshop is an alterative to the Big A that provides both a trustworthy site to buy books, as well as helping to support independent book stores and authors, such as me. Bookshop uses Ingram, the major distributor to book stores, to fulfill the orders. Amazon offers the ease of purchase for its many users, and pays authors a high commission. As much as I would prefer you to order from local shops, I know that there is a need for convenience in purchases as well, and have provided links to both options.
Please note that at this time, the Retro Edition of The Unmerciful Sea is only available through my site or through the single online retailer. This is due to its particular size and layout. I will be working on getting that book version available through Ingram soon. Nag's Head is only available through Amazon as well, for similar reasons. Both books can still be ordered by your favorite book store.
